The Ann Arbor Film Festival

The Ann Arbor Film Festival is the oldest avant-garde and experimental film festival in North America, founded by George Manupelli in 1963. Internationally recognized as a premier forum for independent filmmakers and artists, the festival engages audiences with remarkable cinematic experiences each year.

About the project

This case study was developed as part of a design program that focused on branding and editorial design. The challenge was to imagine a new concept for the festival’s 62nd edition. This contemporary identity plays with the idea of focus/out of focus, reminiscent of cameras, present on the typography.
